About Us

Jawad Akram B.Sc (Hons) Mc Optom graduated with an Honours Degree from the Vision Sciences Department at Aston University in 2000. He was registered with the General Optical Council in 2001 & was subsequently made a member of the College of Optometrists. From 2000 to 2003 he worked in the High St for Specsavers Opticians at branches in Cheltenham & Birmingham. He then worked freelance for the next 3 years until switching mainly to domicilliary work at the beginning of 2006.

Personal statement

Our aim at HCCO is to provide quality eyecare for those patients who are unable to attend a conventional High St Optician. According to popular research there are many hundreds of thousands of housebound people - mainly elderly- who are completely unaware that this service even exists. So we hope that we can raise awareness amongst patients & other practitioners/health care professionals alike.
